Area Information
There are a variety of things to see and do in Brevard/Transylvania County, "Land of the Waterfalls."
If you enjoy the outdoors, you'll want to take advantage of our three parklands: Dupont State Forest, Pisgah National Forest and Gorges State Park. Each park has miles of trails and rivers where you can hike, bike, horseback ride, fish, swim, canoe, kayak and innertube!
You can learn about the forest and wildlife at the Cradle of Forestry, America's first school of forestry and at the Pisgah Center for Wildlife Education. Both offer a variety of interactive displays and workshops.
Transylvania is also home to a variety of cultural events. In the summer, you can enjoy performances at the Brevard Music Center at the the Porter Center for Performing Arts at Brevard College. There's also a variety of festivals, street dances and art shows during the summer.
For more information on these attractions - and for a complete listing of events - visit the Transylvania County Tourism and the Brevard/Chamber of Commerce websites. You'll find detailed information, links, addresses, and phone numbers to assist you in making the most of your visit when you come to camp!
