Evening Activities
Flag lowering on the green is at ten minutes before six o’clock. Then rush to the dining hall for dinner! There’s never a dull evening at Keystone. After supper we sometimes have team games, or we have evening entertainment in the Pavilion. Your cabin might put on a skit tonight, or maybe there will be a talent show.
Sometimes it is the counselor’s turn to entertain the campers, and that’s always the funniest. Sometimes we have a Saturday night dance with a nearby boys’ camp. Camp High Rocks or Camp Carolina are some of our dancing partners.
Every Sunday night at our campfire circle behind the swimming lake, we all gather around a fire to sing Keystone songs and receive any of the awards we may have earned during the week.
After the evening program, we gather at the Lodge for milk and crackers. Then, we circle up and all the campers and staff sing Taps on the green at 8:30 p.m. With a rousing “goodnight” to all, it’s up to the cabin you go and my does that bed feel good.
