Meet the Directors
Page Ives Lemel, Camp Director
Page is Florence Ellis’s (original founder of Keystone) great great niece and a fourth-generation Director of Keystone. She is a graduate of Duke University and assumed the position of Director in 1984. Her father, Bill Ives, ran the camp from 1961 until 1984. Page grew up at Keystone and spent her summers as a camper, counselor, and Head Counselor before taking over the Director’s position.
Page currently lives at Keystone with her husband and three children. She serves on various community boards in Brevard. Her love of Keystone is contagious!
Debbie (Deb) Knight, Associate Director
Deb joined the Keystone Team as Associate Director on August 5th, 2006. Deb has had 10 years of administrative camp experience. Previously she was an Assistant Director and CIT Coordinator at another Western North Carolina camp.
In the off-seasons Deb stays busy doing camper recruiting and marketing. During the summers, her primary focus is on the campers and their families as well as program scheduling and daily website updates. Deb currently serves on the American Camp Association Southeastern Section Board of Directors as Vice-President.
Deb grew up in the Crescent City New Orleans area and completed her studies in Recreation Management at the University of South Alabama. She lives in Pisgah Forest, N.C. with her Golden Retriever "Gracie".
Kyla M. Basher, Program Director
Kyla arrived at Keystone Camp in 2009 from Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She brings with her a collective fifteen years in camping, growing up through the ranks. During the summer Kyla oversees the Keystone Staff and helps run the daily operations of camp activities.
When camp is not in session, Kyla often aides in road show recruitment and presents at various College Fairs around the Southeast.
Kyla graduated from Ithaca College in New York with a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies and Outdoor Adventure Leadership. She is originally from New England and has spent the past three years enjoying North Carolina’s scenic offerings. Kyla lives with her dog, Jack, in Brevard.
Megan Kinsler, Office Manager/Registrar
Megan joined the Keystone Camp family on July of 2009. Originally from St.Petersburg, Florida, Megan is now a resident of Brevard. Megan attended Brevard College where she graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Performance. Megan brings previous camp experience from a neighboring camp. Megan is engaged and will be married to Nick this coming summer. She and Nick plan to reside in Brevard with their German Shepherd mix named "Miley".
