Positions

Our staff members serve as both Cabin Counselors and Activity Instructors. Two counselors live together in a cabin with eight campers who are in the same grade in school. Cabin Counselors are responsible for getting their campers ready for the day, and are there to greet them in the evening after the day's activities are over.

Riflery

Description:

We have one position available for a Riflery instructor. Riflery runs 4 to 5 activity periods during our 7 period day. Keystone Camp has a safe riflery range where campers can aim at 3 targets. Advancement of levels is important to some campers and irrelevant to others. If interested, campers can follow the guidelines outlines by the National Rifle Association. All safety rules in the Code of the Junior Rifleman must be memorized and exercised by the campers before being allowed to handle a rifle.

Qualifications:

Applicants must be at least 19 years of age or have finished one year of college. If you are interested in riflery, a certification course is available to expand your skills and knowledge. On application, please indicate that you are interested in this extra course. During riflery classes, you must be able to inform campers of the safety rules as outlined; instruct campers in proper shooting form and procedure; keep all guns clean and well-oiled; keep score cards on each camper according to NRA guidelines; make weekly level reports on campers; and make sure all rifles are sighted correctly and in good condition. Safety-consciousness is an absolute must!
